The Russian Association for the Promotion of Science (RASN) is an all–Russian public organization established in 2011 on the initiative of Academician E.P. Velikhov, which has regional branches in 55 regions of the country, including the Vologda Region.
The Association's key objectives include consolidating the scientific community, popularizing science, and supporting young researchers. One of RAS's new strategic priorities is to expand international activities and develop scientific diplomacy to strengthen cooperation with partners around the world.
The extraordinary RASN Conference was attended by delegates from 34 regions. A new version of the Charter was supported, management bodies were elected, and the first meeting of the Supervisory Board was held.
M.V. Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center, was re-elected Chairman of the RASN Presidium. He outlined new priorities for the organization: strengthening the country's territorial connectivity, consolidating the scientific and educational community, and developing scientific diplomacy.
"Today, science knows no boundaries. RAS regional and branch offices will help scientists from Novosibirsk, Moscow and Protvino, engineers
from Tomsk and Kaluga regions, cultural figures from St. Petersburg and Vladivostok will exchange experiences and implement new projects.
We are also strengthening the international activities of RASN," Kovalchuk said.
